Student Registration

Welcome to Swansboro Middle School!  The Home of the Pirates!

 

There are two ways in which you can register your child for school.  

  • Online, or
  • Paper Registration

Before you register, it is important to have the following items available:

  • Parent/Guardian ID
  • Proof of Residency in the form of a Power Bill or Water Bill in the Parent/Guardian Name and showing the physical address at which you and the student will reside.
  • Birth Certificate
  • Immunizations - must have within 30 days of the first day of school
  • Health Assessment from NC - must have within 30 days of the first day of school
  • Any legal custody paperwork you need on file

To register ONLINE, click on the following link: Online Registration.  This site will walk you through the registration process. Then, please do the following:

  • Call the school for an appointment with a School Counselor for you and your child.  These appointments are approximately 30 minutes in length.
  • Bring all the documentation with you (We can assist if you are missing an NC Health Assessment)
  • If able, pick up the accompanying forms to complete prior to the appointment.  If not able, you will complete these forms at the appointment.

To register by PAPER, please come to the school and obtain a registration packet. 

  • Please complete the registration form and other accompanying forms.  
  • Call the school for an appointment with a School Counselor for you and your child.  These appointments are approximately 30 minutes in length.
  • Bring all the documentation with you (We can assist if you are missing an NC Health Assessment


At the Registration Appointment, you and your child will:

  • Meet with the School Counselor
  • Review all completed forms
  • Discuss the student and parent(s) hope for the coming year and student goals.
  • Discuss any learning needs or other important factors such as health/medical needs, etc.

Before your appointment with the School Counselor, we encourage you to review the different pages and information on our website.

After the Registration Appointment:

  • Your child will begin school the next school day, if all documents/information is provided (i.e. proof of residency, birth certificate, etc.)
  • Your child will receive their schedule from the front office and will be assigned an escort/buddy to support them on that first day of school.
