Assistant Principal-Michelle Napier

Hello Pirate families, I am happy to be joining the crew at Swansboro Middle School! This is year 26 in the field of education for me and most have those have been in middle school. Most recently I served as assistant principal at Hunters Creek Middle School from 2019-2024, and I taught for 9 years before that at Jacksonville Commons Middle School. I have also taught in Connecticut, Louisianna, and California. As you probably guessed, my husband is a retired Marine so we moved around quite a bit.

My education began at Providence College with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education with a Minor in Mathematics. After teaching for almost 20 years, I decided to return to the classroom as a student and earned my Masters Degree in School Administration from ECU in 2018.

Outside of the school, I am the mother of 3 amazing children (Kira, Mackenzie, and Cameron). I enjoy spending time with my family at the beach or at college football games.
