About Swansboro Middle School
Swansboro is located along the coast of North Carolina in Onslow County. Several surrounding communities comprise the Swansboro Middle population. These areas include Hubert, Swansboro, Stella, and Midway Park. The combined population of these areas is approximately 20,000. The Swansboro area is directly impacted by the surrounding military bases. The Marine Corps bases at Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point are factors in the lives of our students. Currently, Swansboro has close to 400 students who are federally connected. Swansboro Middle School's student population is approximately 970.
Swansboro Middle School, serving grades 6-8, is the only middle school in the Swansboro School District. We have 45 certified classroom teachers, 2 school counselors, 1 media coordinator, 2 assistant principals, and 1 principal. The primary campus was built in 1952. An additional site was adopted in 1999 that now houses the 6thgrade. Construction was completed in July 2008 on a new building that includes a media center, a conference room, a computer lab, an Art room, and 3 classrooms.
